Woman killed, man seriously hurt in N.J. apartment fire

A 35-year-old woman was killed and a man with whom she lived seriously injured in an apartment fire early Saturday in Mercer County, officials said.
The 32-year-old man who resides in the apartment on the 1700 block of Klockner Road in Hamilton was outside the apartment with severe burns on his hands and face when police officers and firefighters arrived shortly after midnight, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Emergency workers found Crystal Vasquez Tavarez in a front bedroom severely burned and brought her to an area hospital, where she died of her injures later Saturday morning.
