Vintage POPE GOSSER CLEMENTINE Pattern (1126) Footed Cup & Saucer - Set of 3Clementine Pattern, circa 1957, that features a pastel floral design, cream color, gold trim and green ring on both saucer and inside of cup.
Good Vintage Condition. No chips or cracks. Have some wear on the gold trim on the lip of the cups and saucers. Has some
crazing but overall a very cute set that would look great on display in a china cabinet.
The footed cups measure about 2 1/4" h x 4" w from top rim and the saucers are 6" w.
The Pope-Gosser company was organized in Coshocton, Ohio in 1902 by Charles F. Gosser and Bentley Pope. In the beginning it experimented with high quality decorative pieces. Later on the concentration was on dinnerware.The company closed in 1958. Pope was a skillful decorator who was born in England. He came to America in 1870 and worked at Trenton until 1891, when he moved to Ohio. At that time he become manager of KTK until 1903, when he left to form the Pope-Gosser China Company with Gosser. The wares were "excellently potted" and the shapes were a departure from existing models.The company begin to immediately produce high grade translucent china.
Vintage and antique items have been loved and used by the previous owner so please expect for there to be some imperfections. If there are any major imperfections such as age cracks, rust, chips, etc I will do my best to list them.
