Pair of Antique Octagonal Shaped Silver Plate Vases with Inserts – 12 inches
To add to the elegant, yet contemplative mood of our Christmas Eve dinner, we chose a pair of unusual silver plate vases that came from my Mother’s church many years ago. They are unusual in that they are 5-sided, very heavy & lined with a metal insert that slips into the vase sleeve to hold the flowers in water. They make quite a presence with their heavy silver plate over metal & large decorative emblem, & so we placed them on the tall pedestals that embrace & flank our roaring fire & fireplace. We also show in our photos how they can be used on the dining table as well. We filled them with tall showy red roses & silvery, shiny decorative boughs to reinforce their ecclesiastical presence. They stand 12 inches tall with a diameter of 5 inches. The main body sits on a pedestal stand & is finished with a wide silver border on bottom & top edge of the vase. They were a favorite pair of my Mother’s, & often used because of their strong presence. They are bold, strong & beautiful, and we are certain they will add a special beauty to your home.
